What does a Strain Gauge measure?
A Honeywell Strain Gauge, which we know is a sensor, measures the strain or the force of a component. The Strain Gauge then converts the force, pressure into the changes it detects electrical resistance which will vary with any changes in the strain of an object.
Types of Honeywell Strain Gauges Force Sensors available?
FSG Series Strain Gauges – Measures 0 N to 20 N force ranges. Unamplified, Uncompensated, 360 mV typical output, very low deflection. This Strain Gauge has a specialized Piezoresistive, micromachined silicon sensing element. A Wheatstone bridge circuit provides stable mV output over 5, 10, 15 and 20 N force ranges. A stainless steel plunger ensures mechanical stability plus the gauge ca be used with prewired connectors, PCB and surface mounting.
FSS Series Strain Gauges - Measures 0 N to 20 N force ranges. Unamplified, Uncompensated, 360 mV typical output, very low deflection, compact small size. FSS series sensors provide 20 million Mean Cycles to Failure (MCTF) at50°C and has a specialized Piezoresistive, micromachined silicon sensing element. A Wheatstone bridge circuit provides stable mV output.
FSS-SMT Series Strain Gauges - Measures 0 N to 20 N force ranges. Unamplified, Uncompensated, 360 mV typical output, very low deflection, compact small size. Designed as one of the most reliable force sensors providing 20 million Mean Cycles to Failure (MCTF) at 25°C rated. Surface mounted technology (SMT) with a low profile. Facility for automated assembly an a (PCB) printed circuit board.
